11.The Department carried out a formal consultation exercise with interested parties on its proposals to modernise the current legislative framework relating to local government finance and councillors’ remuneration in Northern Ireland over a 4 month period from July 2009 to October 2009.
12.Overall, the majority of the 28 respondents were supportive of the Department’s proposals.
