6—(1) There shall be a chief officer of RBSO who shall be a member of the staff of RBSO and shall be responsible to RBSO for the general exercise of its functions. N.I.

(2) Subject to regulations made under paragraph 5(e)—

(a) the first chief officer shall be appointed by the Department;

(b) any subsequent chief officer shall be appointed by RBSO.
