The term of office of members of the Regional Board appointed under paragraph 3(1)(a), (b) or (e) shall be 4 years or such other period as may be determined by the Department at the time the appointments are made.

A member of the Regional Board specified in paragraph 3(1)(c), (d) or (e)—
a
who ceases to hold the qualifying office, shall cease to be a member of the Regional Board;
b
who is suspended from the qualifying office, shall be suspended from membership of the Regional Board while suspended from that office.

In sub-paragraph (2) “the qualifying office” in relation to a member of the Regional Board means the office under the Regional Board which the member held at the time of becoming a member of the Regional Board.
