1Promotion of child maintenance
The Department must take such steps as it thinks appropriate for the purpose of raising awareness among parents of the importance of—
a
taking responsibility for the maintenance of their children, and
b
making appropriate arrangements for the maintenance of children of theirs who live apart from them.
