PART 1

Primary Legislation:

House of Commons Disqualification Act 1975 (c. 24)

1.  In Schedule 1 (Offices disqualifying for membership) to the House of Commons Disqualifying Act 1975, in Part III, in the entry relating to any member in receipt of remuneration of the British Tourist Authority ( etc), for “, the Scottish Tourist Board or the Wales Tourist Board” substitute “or the Scottish Tourist Board”.

Race Relations Act 1976 (c. 74)

2.  In Part II of Schedule 1A (Bodies and other persons subject to general statutory duty) to the Race Relations Act 1976, omit the entry relating to the Wales Tourist Board.

Greater London Authority Act 1999 (c. 29)

3.  In the Greater London Authority Act 1999:

(1) in subsection (5) of section 378 (Duty of the authority to promote tourism) after paragraph (a) insert:

“(aa) the National Assembly for Wales”; and

(2) in subsection (11) of section 378:

(a) at the end of paragraph (c) insert “or”; and

(b) omit paragraph (e) and the word “or” preceding it.

Care Standards Act 2000 (c. 14)

4.  In Schedule 2A (Persons subject to review by the Commissioner under section 72B) to the Care Standards Act 2000, omit paragraph 21.

Freedom of Information Act 2000 (c. 36)

5.  In Part VI of Schedule 1 (Public authorities) to the Freedom of Information Act 2000, omit “The Wales Tourist Board.”.

International Development Act 2002 (c. 1)

6.  In the International Development Act 2002:

(1) in subsection (4)(b) of section 9 (Powers of statutory bodies), after “Welsh body” add “other than the National Assembly for Wales”; and

(2) in Schedule 1 (Statutory bodies to which section 9 applies), for “Wales Tourist Board” substitute “The National Assembly for Wales”.

Public Services Ombudsman (Wales) Act 2005 (c. 10 )

7.  In Schedule 3 (Listed authorities) to the Public Services Ombudsman (Wales) Act 2005, omit “The Wales Tourist Board”.

PART 2

Subordinate Legislation:

Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) Order 1975 (SI 1975/193)

1.  In the Schedule (National bodies or bodies related to a national body) to the Local Authorities (Goods and Services) (Public Bodies) Order 1975:

(1) omit “The Wales Tourist Board”; and

(2) in the entry beginning “A regional tourist board ... ... ... ...” omit “or the Wales Tourist Board”.

Welsh Language Schemes (Public Bodies) Order 1996 (SI 1996/1898)

2.  In the Schedule to the Welsh Language Schemes (Public Bodies) Order 1996, omit “Wales Tourist Board” and “Bwrdd Croeso Cymru”.

National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999 (S.I. 1999/672)

3.  In the National Assembly for Wales (Transfer of Functions) Order 1999, in Schedule 1, in the entry for the Development of Tourism Act 1969—

(a) in the first sentence (following on from the name of the Act), omit the words “in respect of all the functions vested in the Secretary of State for Wales by virtue of section 1(3) and (6).”;

(b) omit the second sentence (commencing “The Treasury approval requirements under sections 2(8) etc”);

(c) omit the fourth sentence (commencing “The function of “the Minister of the Civil Service” etc”); and

(d) except for the purposes of the statement of account for the financial year 2005 to 2006 provided for in article 3(5) of this Order, omit the second sentence (commencing “The Treasury approval requirements under section 6(1) etc) and the fourth sentence (commencing “The functions of the Comptroller and Auditor General etc).

Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Exemption) Order 2001 (SI 2001/1201)

4.  In Part III (Persons exempt in respect of any regulated activity mentioned in article 5(1)) of the Schedule to the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Exemption) Order 2001 omit “The Wales Tourist Board”.

The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (SI 2002/3113)

5.  In regulation 4 (Interpretation- general) of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002—

(a) in the definition of “tourist destination”, for “Wales Tourist Board” substitute “National Assembly for Wales”;

(b) in the definition of “Tourist Information Centre”, for “England or Wales Tourist Boards” substitute “England Tourist Board, National Assembly for Wales”; and

(c) in the definition of “Tourist Information Point”, after “tourist board” insert “or the National Assembly for Wales”.

6.  In the Schedule (Offices disqualifying holders from membership of the National Assembly) to the National Assembly for Wales (Disqualification) Order 2003, omit “The Wales Tourist Board”.
