entering a name in the register of protected designations of origin and protected geographical indications (Cappero delle Isole Eolie (PDO))
THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION,
Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,
Whereas:
The Commission received a notice of opposition including a reasoned statement of opposition under Article 51(1) and (2) of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012 on behalf of the municipalities Malfa, Leni, and Santa Maria Salina, and held it to be inadmissible. In accordance with the first subparagraph of Article 49(3) in conjunction with Article 51 of Regulation (EU) No 1151/2012, natural or legal persons having a legitimate interest, established or resident in the Member State from which the application was lodged, are authorised to lodge a notice of opposition only through the national opposition procedure.
The name ‘Cappero delle Isole Eolie’ should therefore be entered in the register,
HAS ADOPTED THIS REGULATION:
Article 1
The name ‘Cappero delle Isole Eolie’ PDO is hereby entered in the register.
Article 2
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
