CHAPTER III U.K. RESTRICTIONS ON USE AND STORAGE OF MERCURY, MERCURY COMPOUNDS AND MIXTURES OF MERCURY

Article 9 U.K. Artisanal and small-scale gold mining and processing

1. Artisanal and small-scale gold mining and processing in which mercury amalgamation is used to extract gold from ore shall be prohibited.

2. Without prejudice to paragraph 1 of this Article F1 ..., where there is evidence of there being more than isolated cases of non-compliance with the prohibition laid down in paragraph 1 of this Article, the competent authority F2 ... shall develop and implement a national plan in accordance with Annex IV.
