Article 5U.K.Requirements and test procedures for [F1GB type-approval] of motor vehicles with regard to the installation of 112-based eCall in-vehicle systems

1.[F2GB type-approval] of a vehicle with regard to the installation of a 112-based eCall in-vehicle system shall be subject to the vehicle and its system passing the tests laid down in Annexes I to VIII and complying with the relevant requirements laid down in those Annexes.

2.Where the motor vehicle is fitted with a type of 112-based eCall in-vehicle STU that has been type-approved in accordance with Article 7, the vehicle and its system [F3must] pass the tests laid down in Annexes II, III and V and [F4must] comply with all relevant requirements laid down in those Annexes.

[F52A.Where the motor vehicle is fitted with a type of 112-based eCall in-vehicle STU that has been approved in accordance with Article 7 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/79 as it has effect in EU law, the vehicle and its systems must also pass the tests laid down in Annexes II, III and V of this Regulation, and must comply with all relevant requirements laid down in those Annexes.]

3.Where the 112-based eCall in-vehicle system of the motor vehicle comprises one or more components that have been type-approved in accordance with Article 6, the motor vehicle and its system [F6must] pass the tests laid down in Annexes I to VIII and to comply with all relevant requirements laid down in those Annexes. The assessment of whether the system complies with those requirements may however partly be based on the results of the tests referred [F7must] in Article 6(3).

[F83A.Where the 112-based eCall in-vehicle system of the motor vehicle comprises one or more components that have been type-approved in accordance with Article 6 of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/79 as it has effect in EU law, the vehicle and its system must also pass the tests laid down in Annexes I to VIII of this Regulation and must comply with all relevant requirements laid down in those Annexes. The assessment of whether the system complies with those requirements may however partly be based on the results of the tests referred to in Article 6(3) of Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/79 as it has effect in EU law.]

[F94.GB type-approvals referred to in paragraph 1 that are granted before 1 January 2027 must be extended in accordance with the procedure laid down in Annex X.]
