SCALES FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF CARCASSES</Strong>Methods for classification of beef, pig and sheep carcassesArticle 9The relevant authorities shall ensure that beef, pig and sheep carcass classification is carried out:by qualified classifiers who have obtained a licence for visual classification of carcasses. The licence may be replaced by an approval granted by the appropriate authority where such approval corresponds to recognition of a qualification; orby using authorised grading methods that may consist of automated or semi-automated or manual grading techniques as provided for in Articles 10 and 11.
