F1Article 49Vessel monitoring system

Where an ICCAT authorised UK fishing boat is required under Article 9(2) of Regulation 1224/2009 to have installed on board a vessel monitoring system (“VMS”), in addition to any requirements specified in relation to the VMS of that boat under Regulation 1224/2009 the following requirements apply—
(a)
the boat must begin transmission of VMS data at least 5 days prior to the start of the season for which it is an ICCAT authorised fishing boat and continue such transmission until at least 5 days after the end of that season;
(b)
the boat must not interrupt transmission of VMS data when in port;
(c)
where the boat is a purse seiner, the frequency of transmission of VMS data must be at least once every hour.
