Article 3Book-entry form

Without prejudice to paragraph 2, any issuer established in the Union that issues or has issued transferable securities which are admitted to trading or traded on trading venues, shall arrange for such securities to be represented in book-entry form as immobilisation or subsequent to a direct issuance in dematerialised form.

Where a transaction in transferable securities takes place on a F1UK trading venue the relevant securities shall be recorded in book-entry form in a CSD F2or third-country CSD on or before the intended settlement date, unless they have already been so recorded.
Where transferable securities are transferred following a financial collateral arrangement F3..., those securities shall be recorded in book-entry form in a CSD F2or third-country CSD on or before the intended settlement date, unless they have already been so recorded.

The competent authority shall ensure that the first sub-paragraph of Article 3(2) of this Regulation is applied where transferable securities are admitted to trading or traded on UK trading venues.

The competent authority shall ensure that the second sub-paragraph of Article 3(2) of this Regulation is applied where transferable securities admitted to trading or traded on UK trading venues are transferred following a financial collateral arrangement.
