This Regulation establishes the administrative and technical requirements for the [F1GB] type-approval of all new vehicles of the categories referred to in Article 2 with regard to their sound level, and of replacement silencing systems and components thereof type-approved as separate technical units designed and constructed for vehicles of categories M1 and N1 with a view to facilitating their registration, sale and entry into service within [F2Great Britain].
