Article 95Applicants

1.

Any interested group of producers, or in exceptional and duly justifiable cases a single producer, may apply for the protection of a designation of origin or geographical indication. Other interested parties may participate in the application.

An application to protect a designation of origin or a geographical indication for a wine produced in the United Kingdom must be submitted to the Secretary of State.

2.

Producers may apply for protection only for wines which they produce.

3.

In the case of a name designating a trans-border geographical area or a traditional name connected to a trans-border geographical area, a joint application may be submitted.
