2. Processing method U.K.

(a) The rendered fat must be submitted to a pre-treatment which consists of: U.K.

(i)

the bleaching of the centrifuged materials by passing them through a clay filter;

(ii)

the removal of remaining insoluble impurities by filtration.

(b) The pre-treated materials must be submitted to a multi-step catalytic process which consists of a hydro-deoxygenisation step, followed by an isomerisation step. U.K.

The materials must be submitted to a pressure of at least 20 bars at a temperature of at least 250 °C for at least 20 minutes.]
