Helicopter instrument ratings (IR(H)) for multi-engine helicopters issued in accordance with Annex I (Part-FCL) to this Regulation prior to 30 October 2026 are to be treated as an IR(H) for both single-engine and multi-engine helicopters.

The holder of an IR(H) for single-engine helicopters must meet the requirements of point FCL.630.H of Annex I prior to being issued with an IR(H) for multi-engine helicopters.

The helicopter pilot licence of an individual issued with an IR(H) for multi-engine helicopters in accordance with Annex I (Part-FCL) prior to 30 October 2026 is to be endorsed with an IR(H) for both single-engine and multi-engine helicopters when it is next updated or renewed.

Applicants who commenced training for an IR(H) for either single-engine or multi-engine helicopters immediately prior to 30 October 2026 may complete that training and must be issued with an IR(H) The IR(H) of applicants who complete training for single-engine helicopters is to be restricted to single-engine helicopter privileges only.
