2.Investment in the areas referred to in Title III

2.5.Inland fishing

  1. (a)

    For the purpose of this Regulation, ‘inland fishing’ means fisheries carried out for commercial purpose by vessels operating exclusively in inland waters of the territory of Member States and which are not subject to the provisions of Title II;

  2. (b)

    when the investment concerns the construction of a vessel for inland fishing, the provisions of point 1.3(a) of Annex III shall apply;

  3. (c)

    when the investment concerns the modernisation of a vessel for inland fishing, the provisions of point 1.4(b) of Annex III shall apply;

  4. (d)

    investments shall not be eligible for assistance if they are likely to jeopardise the equilibrium between the fleet size and the corresponding fish resources available;

  5. (e)

    scrapping premiums for vessels for inland fishing shall not be eligible for assistance;

  6. (f)

    the management authority shall take all necessary measures to ensure that vessels receiving financial assistance from the FIFG under Article 13 shall continue to operate exclusively in inland waters.
