This Directive shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.

Articles 1, 2 and 3, points 1 to 4 of Article 4, Articles 5, 6, 7, 15 to 18 and 20, Article 22(2) and (4) and Annexes I and III to XII shall apply from 20 April 2016.
