1.1 This Annex applies to the type-approval as separate technical units within the meaning of Article 2 of Directive 70/156/EEC, of brake lining assemblies to be installed on motor vehicles and trailers of categories M ₁ ≤ 3,5 tonnes, M ₂ ≤ 3,5 tonnes, N ₁ , O ₁ and O ₂ as replacement parts. U.K.

1.2 Approvals are only mandatory for those replacement brake lining assemblies intended to be fitted to such motor vehicles and trailers which were approved pursuant to Directive 71/320/EEC as amended by this Directive.] U.K.
