Council Directive of 14 June 1966 on the marketing of cereal seed (66/402/EEC)

Article 3 U.K.

[F1 1. Member States shall provide that cereal seed may not be placed on the market unless it has been officially certified as ‘ basic seed ’ , ‘ certified seed ’ , ‘ certified seed, first generation ’ or ‘ certified seed, second generation ’ .]

2. The Member States shall, for the purposes of certification[F2 and marketing], fix the maximum moisture content of basic seed and certified seed of all kinds.

3. The Member States shall ensure that the official examinations of seed are carried out in accordance with current international methods, insofar as such methods exist.
