The contribution from New Zealand to the European Union military operation to contribute to the deterrence, prevention and repression of acts of piracy and armed robbery off the Somali coast (Atalanta) is accepted and is considered to be significant.

New Zealand is exempted from financial contributions to the budget of Atalanta.
