Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Regulations)

These Regulations further amend the Education (Induction Arrangements for School Teachers (England) Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999/1065).

The definition of “appeal body” in regulation 5 of those regulations is amended so that, where an appeal is made against a decision of the appropriate body and the induction period of the person making the appeal ended on or after 1st July 2001, the appeal body is the General Teaching Council for England (regulation 3).

A minor amendment is made to paragraph 3 of Schedule 2 to the regulations (regulation 4).
