The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1990

Present,

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by sections 2 and 13 of the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985(1), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1990.

(2) The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 2) Order 1989(2) and the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 1989(3) are revoked.

2.  The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1986(4) is amended by deleting Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 thereto(1) and substituting therefor the following —

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order amends the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1986. It adds The Kingdom of the Netherlands to the list of the Contracting States to the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction signed at the Hague on 25th October 1980 (Cm.33) and to the European Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions Concerning Custody of Children and on the Restoration of Custody of Children, signed at Luxembourg on 20th May 1980 (Cm. 191).
