(This note is not part of the Regulations)
These Regulations amend two sets of regulations relating to school inspections.
Regulation 2 amends the Education (School Inspection) (England) Regulations 2005 so as to prescribe the cases where a school may charge for a copy of an inspection report. These are: (a) where a registered parent requests a further copy in addition to the copy of the report they are entitled to receive under section 14 or 16 of the Education Act 2005 (c.18), and (b) where anybody else requests a copy of the report from the school.
Regulation 3 amends the Education (Investigation of Parents’ Complaints) (England) Regulations 2007 so as to provide for a complaint about the contribution made by the school to community cohesion to be a qualifying complaint for the purposes of section 11A(2) of the Education Act 2005. This reflects the duty imposed on the Chief Inspector to report on the contribution, imposed by section 5(5)(g) of the Education Act 2005.
