The District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004

Coming into force in accordance with article 1(2)

The Electoral Commission(1), in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 17(2) and 26(3) of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004.

(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.

Amendment to the 2002 Order

2.—(1) The District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) Order 2002(4) shall be amended as follows:

(2) In article 2 “any reference to the map is a reference to the map marked “Revised (2004) Map referred to in the District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) Order 2002”, of which prints are available” shall be substituted for the words from “any reference to the map” to “of which prints are available”.

(3) In article 8 “the map marked “Revised (2004) Map referred to in the District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) Order 2002” available for inspection” shall be substituted for the words from “the map marked” to “available for inspection”.

Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order substitutes a new map for that originally referred to in the District of Chiltern (Electoral Changes) Order 2002, in order to give full effect to recommendations by the Local Government Commission for England for electoral changes in the district of Chiltern.

The Electoral Commission was established by the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (c. 41). The functions of the Secretary of State, under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992 (c. 19), so far as they relate to electoral changes within the meaning of that Act, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962).
