2. Article VIII of the Agreed Measures, set out in Schedule 2 to the Antarctic Treaty Act 1967, is amended by replacing the full stop at the end of paragraph 2(b) with a semicolon, and adding a new subparagraph as follows:
“(c)entry by their nationals, except in accordance with a permit issued under Article VI or under paragraph 2(a) of the present Article or in accordance with a permit issued for some other compelling scientific purpose.”
