The Secretary of State makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 61(1) of, and paragraphs 1(1), 7(1) and 24(1) to (3)(1) of Schedule 1 to, the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007(2).

Paragraphs 1 and 7 of Schedule 1 to the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007 (“the Order”) refer to criteria prescribed for the purposes of those paragraphs. Paragraph 24 of Schedule 1 to the Order makes provision as to the criteria that may be prescribed for the purposes of paragraphs 1 and 7 of that Schedule. Article 2(2) of the Order defines “prescribed” as meaning prescribed by regulations made by the Secretary of State.
