The 1993 Act is modified as follows.

In section 40A (annual notices)—
a
in subsection (5), for “as soon as reasonably practicable after the end of each successive 1 year period” substitute “at least once in every subsequent period of 3 years”,
b
for subsection (7), substitute—

Section 55 applies in relation to a notice given under subsection (1) of this section as if for subsection (1)(b) of that section there were substituted—

by being sent by post to the proper address of the person,

the section heading becomes “Duties notice”.
