23Power to continue provision of continuing care up to person’s 26th birthday

The Children (Scotland) Act 1995 is amended as follows.

In section 26A (provision of continuing care: looked after children), after subsection (3) insert—
“(3A)
A local authority may (but is not required to) continue to provide continuing care to a person who ceases to be an eligible person until they attain the age of 26, if it is satisfied that doing so will promote or safeguard the person’s welfare.”.
