Kinship care assistance
18Guidance in relation to kinship care assistance functions
(1)
The Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014 is amended as follows.
(2)
After section 73, insert—
“73ADuty to have regard to guidance about the provision of kinship care assistance
(1)
A local authority must have regard to any guidance issued by the Scottish Ministers about—
(a)
the discharge of functions conferred on it by this Part,
(b)
matters arising in connection with the discharge of those functions.
(2)
Before issuing or revising any such guidance, the Scottish Ministers must consult—
(a)
any person to which it relates, and
(b)
such other persons as they consider appropriate.
(3)
As soon as practicable after issuing any guidance under this section (including a revised version), the Scottish Ministers must lay a copy before the Scottish Parliament.”.
