Section 1 – Qualifications Scotland

6.This section establishes the body to be known as ‘Qualifications Scotland’. The body’s Gaelic name, ‘Teisteanasan Alba’, has equal legal status. As a body corporate, Qualifications Scotland has a legal personality separate from that of the people who comprise it.

7.This section also provides that Qualifications Scotland has the functions conferred on it under or by virtue of this Act and any other enactment, as well as introducing the schedule which makes further provision about the body’s composition and other matters.
