12Offence of providing false information to obtain a licence

(1)

A person commits an offence if the person knowingly or recklessly makes a false or misleading statement for the purposes of obtaining (either personally or for another person) a licence under section 4 or 10.

(2)

A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) is liable on summary conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or a fine not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale (or both).
