Final provisions

13Interpretation

In this Act—

  • “the 2015 Order” means the Scottish Parliament (Elections etc.) Order 2015 (S.S.I. 2015/425),

  • “the 2021 election” has the meaning given by section 1,

  • “coronavirus” means severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),

  • “the Presiding Officer” means the Presiding Officer of the Scottish Parliament.

14Ancillary provision

The Scottish Ministers may by regulations make any incidental, supplementary, consequential, transitional, transitory or saving provision that they consider appropriate for the purposes of, in connection with, or for giving full effect to this Act or any provision made under it.

Regulations under subsection (1) may modify any enactment (including this Act).

15Commencement

This Act comes into force on the day after Royal Assent.

16Short title

The short title of this Act is the Scottish General Election (Coronavirus) Act 2021.
