Term lengths

2Dates of Scottish local government elections

(1)

In section 5 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994 (elections and term of office of councillors)—

(a)

subsections (1A) and (1B) are repealed,

(b)

in subsection (1C), for “fourth” substitute “ fifth ”.

(2)

In section 43 of the Representation of the People Act 1983 (day of ordinary local elections in Scotland etc.), in subsection (1C) for “5(1A) or (1B)” substitute “ 5(1C) ”.
