Transport (Scotland) Act 2019

Part 5 – Travel Concession Schemes: Application to Community Transport

326.Section 49 amends the 1985 Act to require the Scottish Ministers to publish, and lay before the Scottish Parliament, a report setting out their assessment of the costs and benefits of extending travel concession schemes established under section 93 of the 1985 Act to community bus services (within the meaning of section 22(1) of the 1985 Act) and such other transport services they consider appropriate. Schemes under section 93 are travel concession schemes made by local authorities for persons they specify as eligible within their area. In preparing the report Ministers must consult each local authority, each regional transport partnership, and such persons as they consider to be representative of community transport users while preparing the report.
