The Act
3.The Act gives effect to key parts of the National Strategy for Community Justice, adopting a preventative approach to not only reduce crime and the number of future victims of crime, but to help create a more just, equitable, and inclusive society where people’s life chances are improved and where the best use is made of Scotland’s public resources.
4.A more detailed explanation of the Act’s purpose can be found in the Policy Memorandum published alongside the Bill for the Act, which also explains the thinking and policy intentions that underpin it.
