Section 5: Respect for, and dignity of, applicants for assistance
29.This section provides that, while exercising their functions under sections 1 to 3 of the Act and any regulations made under section 4, local authorities must take reasonable steps to ensure that applicants for assistance are treated with respect and that their dignity is preserved.
