Membership of the Committee

The Committee is to consist of the following members—
a
a person to chair the Committee (“the Chair”); and
b
not fewer than five and not more than eight other members.

The Scottish Ministers may, by order, modify sub-paragraph (1)(b) so as to alter the number of other members of the Committee.

Members of the Committee are appointed by the Scottish Ministers.

In appointing members to the Committee, the Scottish Ministers must have regard to the desirability of the Committee (taken as a whole) having expertise or experience in the following—
a
business competitiveness;
b
climate change policy at Scottish, UK and international level (in particular the social impact of such policy);
c
climate science and other branches of environmental science;
d
economic analysis and forecasting;
e
emissions trading;
f
energy production and supply;
g
financial investment;
h
technology development and diffusion.
