41Appropriate authority in relation to a complaintS
(1)For the purposes of sections 34 to 40, the appropriate authority in relation to a complaint is—
[F1(a)the Authority in cases where the complaint is about an act or omission by—
(i)the Authority;
(ii)a senior officer of the Police Service; or
(iii)a member of the Authority's staff; and
(b)the chief constable in cases where the complaint is about an act or omission by—
(i)the Police Service;
(ii)a constable of the Police Service who is not a senior officer; or
(iii)a member of the police staff.]
