F4(1)

SFRS may enter into arrangements with a person for securing the provision by that person of assistance for SFRS in the carrying out by SFRS of a relevant function.

(2)

A person may provide assistance under arrangements made under subsection (1) only if the Chief Officer is satisfied that the person has sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to enable the person to provide assistance for SFRS in the carrying out by SFRS of the relevant function.

(3)

Arrangements under this section may include provision as to the terms (including terms as to payment) on which assistance is to be provided.

In this section, “relevant function” means a function conferred by or under any of sections 8 to 11, 13 and 61.

Performance of functions by others

36Arrangements for carrying out of functions by others

F6(1)

SFRS may enter into arrangements with a person for the carrying out by that person of a relevant function.

(2)

A person may carry out a relevant function under arrangements made under subsection (1) only if the Chief Officer is satisfied that the person has sufficient knowledge, skills and experience to enable the person to carry out the relevant function.

(2A)

SFRS may enter into arrangements under this section in relation to its function of extinguishing fires only if the person employs fire-fighters.

(3)

Arrangements under this section may include provision as to the terms (including terms as to payment) on which any function is to be carried out.
