52Interpretation of Part 2S

In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires—

  • [F1Chief Inspector” has the meaning given by section 43A(6),]

  • [F1Chief Officer” means the person appointed under paragraph 7 of schedule 1A,]

  • emergency” means an event or situation that causes or is likely to cause—

    (a)

    a person to die;

    (b)

    a person to suffer serious—

    (i)

    injury; or

    (ii)

    illness; or

    (c)

    serious harm to the environment (including the life and health of plants and animals and the fabric of buildings);

  • extinguishing”, in relation to a fire, includes containing and controlling;

  • [F1framework document” means the document prepared under, and having effect by virtue of, section 40,]

  • [F1Inspector” has the meaning given by section 43A(6),]

  • road” has the same meaning as in Part 4 of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (c. 22).
