6.Section 4 amends sections 4(3) and 5(4) of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994, sections 43(1), (2) and (3) of the Representation of the People Act 1983 and sections 36 and 37(1) of the Local Government (Scotland) Act 1973. These amendments correct minor inaccuracies of language and statutory references. Subsection (6) gives certain of the amendments retrospective effect. The amended provisions will therefore be interpreted as if they had always included the amendments.
