<Pnumber>1</Pnumber>
<P2para>
<Text>In this Part and Part 2 of this Act, any reference to a notice being given to a person providing, or seeking to provide, a care service shall be construed as a reference to its being—</Text>

<Pnumber>a</Pnumber>
<P3para>
<Text>delivered, where the person is—</Text>

<Pnumber>i</Pnumber>
<P4para>
<Text>an individual, to that individual;</Text>
</P4para>
</P4>

<Text>a body corporate, to the secretary or clerk of that body; or</Text>
</P4para>

<Text>a firm, to a partner of that firm; or</Text>

<Pnumber>b</Pnumber>

<Text>sent by post, properly addressed to the person, in a registered letter or by the recorded delivery service,</Text>
</P3para>
</P3>
<Text>but a notice sent by post shall be deemed not given until the third day after the day of posting.</Text>

<Pnumber>2</Pnumber>

<Text>For the purposes of subsection (1) above, a letter is properly addressed to—</Text>
<P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2001/8/section/32/2/a/made" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/asp/2001/8/section/32/2/a" id="section-32-2-a">
<Pnumber>a</Pnumber>
<P3para>
<Text>a body corporate, if addressed to the body at its registered or principal office;</Text>
</P3para>
</P3>
<P3 DocumentURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asp/2001/8/section/32/2/b/made" IdURI="http://www.legislation.gov.uk/id/asp/2001/8/section/32/2/b" id="section-32-2-b">
<Pnumber>b</Pnumber>
<P3para>
<Text>a firm, if addressed to the firm at its principal office; or</Text>
