Removal of restrictions on obtaining possession of dwellings
269Power of local authority to obtain possession of dwellings let under certain tenancies
(1)
This section applies to a dwelling that a local authority—
(a)
has acquired or appropriated for planning purposes, and
(b)
holds for the purposes for which it was acquired or appropriated.
(2)
If the Welsh Ministers certify that possession of the dwelling is immediately required for those purposes, nothing in the Rent Act 1977 (c. 42) or Part 1 of the Housing Act 1988 (c. 50) prevents the authority from obtaining possession of the dwelling.
