Tree preservation orders and woodland preservation orders
235Power of planning authority to make woodland preservation order
(1)
A planning authority may make a woodland preservation order if it considers that it is appropriate in the interests of amenity to make provision for the preservation of woodlands in its area.
(2)
A woodland preservation order is an order for the preservation of the woodlands specified in the order.
(3)
A woodland preservation order applies to all the trees in the woodlands to which the order relates, whether or not they were in existence when the order was made.
