General duty of planning authorities
233Planning permission to include provision for preservation and planting of trees
Where a planning authority grants planning permission for any development—
(a)
it must, where appropriate, grant the permission subject to conditions that make adequate provision for the preservation or planting of trees, and
(b)
it must make the tree preservation orders and woodland preservation orders it considers necessary in connection with the grant of permission, whether or not for giving effect to conditions to which the permission is subject.
