27Meaning of “fire safety risk” and “structural safety risk”

(1)

This section sets out the meaning of “fire safety risk” and “structural safety risk” in relation to a regulated building.

(2)

Fire safety risk” means a risk to the safety of people in or about the building arising from—

(a)

the outbreak of fire (whether accidental or deliberate) in any part of the building, or

(b)

the spread of fire in, to or from any part of the building.

(3)

Structural safety risk” means a risk to the safety of people in or about the building arising from structural failure affecting any part of the building.
