http://www.legislation.gov.uk/asc/2026/5/section/21/enactedBuilding Safety (Wales) Act 2026enKing's Printer of Acts of Parliament2026-05-20 PART 1SAFETY OF BUILDINGS CONTAINING TWO OR MORE RESIDENTIAL UNITSCHAPTER 3REGISTRATION OF CATEGORY 1 BUILDINGS AND CATEGORY 2 BUILDINGSNotification of changes and revision of registerDuty to notify changes 21 1 The principal accountable person for a registered category 1 building or a registered category 2 building must notify the building safety authority for the building in writing of— a a change to any information included in the register under section 18(2)(a) and (c) to (g); b any other change specified in regulations made by the Welsh Ministers, before the end of 14 days beginning with the first day on which the principal accountable person knows, or ought reasonably to know, of the change. 2 A person who fails without reasonable excuse to comply with subsection (1) commits an offence. 3 A person guilty of an offence under subsection (2) is liable— a on summary conviction, to a fine or imprisonment for a term not exceeding the applicable limit under section 224(1A)(b) of the Sentencing Code, or both; b on conviction on indictment, to a fine or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years, or both. 4 A person who has been convicted of an offence under subsection (2) commits a further offence if the person continues to fail to comply with subsection (1) after the conviction. 5 A person guilty of an offence under subsection (4) is liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding level 1 on the standard scale for each day on which the failure continues.
