23 Restriction on providing local bus services E+W

(1) A local bus service must not be provided in Wales unless—

(a) its provision in Wales is under a local bus service contract,

(b) its provision in Wales is under a local bus service permit, or

(c) it is provided in Wales by the Welsh Ministers under section 18.

(2) But subsection (1) does not apply to a local bus service—

(a) that is a community bus service, or

(b) that is provided as described in section 46(1) of the 1981 Act (paying passengers on school buses).

(3) Regulations may amend this section for the purposes of providing that subsection (1) applies or does not apply to a specified description of local bus service, or does or does not apply to a local bus service that is provided in a specified manner.
