F1(1)Subject to subsection (2), a person shall, so long as he is and for twelve months after he has ceased to be, a councillor, be disqualified for being appointed by the council to any paid office [F2which is prescribed under section 4(1)(a) ] .

(3)In this section—
“council” includes a committee or sub-committee of a council;
“councillor” includes a member of such a committee or sub-committee, whether he is a member of the council or not.
