7Assault on, and obstruction of, constables, etc.N.I.

F1(1)Any person who—

(b)assaults any person with intent to resist or prevent the lawful apprehension of himself or of any other person for any offence;

shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable—

(i)

on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or to a fine, or to both; or

(ii)

on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding[F2 level 3 on the standard scale], or to both.
